Werehog Sonic

Sonic the Werehog is a beast-like, werewolf-inspired transformation of Sonic the Hedgehog that debuted in the 2008 game Sonic Unleashed. [1, 2] Origin of the Transformation The Incident: At the start of Sonic Unleashed, Dr. Eggman traps Super Sonic and uses a machine to drain the positive energy from the Chaos Emeralds, turning them dark and colorless. [1] Dark Gaia's Energy: Eggman fires a massive laser into the earth's core to awaken the ancient beast Dark Gaia, splitting the planet apart. The backlash of this dark energy and the negative radiation from the drained Chaos Emeralds mutates Sonic into the Werehog. [1, 2] The Curse: The transformation is tied to the sun and moon cycle; Sonic turns into the Werehog whenever night falls and changes back into his normal self at sunrise. He is permanently cured later in the game when Dark Gaia absorbs the residual energy to mature. [1, 2] Powers and Abilities Super Strength: Instead of relying on blazing speed, the Werehog relies on raw physical power and brawler-style combat. Stretchy Arms: His arms can stretch to great lengths, allowing him to punch distant enemies, grab objects, and swing across gaps. Acrobatic Climbing: He can scale walls and navigate rough, vertical environments that normal fast-running Sonic cannot. Loss of Speed: In this form, Sonic completely loses his trademark super speed, spin dash, and homing attack. [1, 2, 3]
