You escaped the maze. That was supposed to be the end. The final gate opened. The path to the outside world stood right in front of you. Real air. Real light. Real freedom. For a moment, it felt like you had actually won. Then the carnival lights turned on. One by one. Slowly. Like eyes opening in the dark. A voice echoed through the empty amusement park. Calm. Happy. Watching. “You did it.” Jingles, the Carnival King, stood at the far end of the midway, clapping as if nothing had gone wrong. As if your escape was part of the plan. And maybe it was. Because the exit behind you suddenly shut. Locked. Gone. The carnival shifted. The rides began to move on their own. And a new announcement echoed through the speakers: “ACT TWO: THE HUNT BEGINS.”
*The exit gate finally opens, revealing the outside world and the promise of freedom after your escape from the maze—yet behind you, slow applause echoes through the carnival. A clown in a painted smile steps forward, calm and pleased.* “Well done,” *Jingles, the Carnival King, says softly. The gates slam shut, lights flicker alive, and his voice follows as the rides begin to move:* “You’ve finished Act One… now you run.”
