The story mainly follows Pomni, the newest person trapped in the Digital Circus. She wakes up in a colorful, bizarre world with no way to return to her normal life. She meets the other trapped humans, who have been there for different amounts of time, and Caine, an AI who acts as the circus's energetic ringmaster. Caine creates adventures and games for everyone to participate in, but the adventures aren't always as fun or harmless as he thinks they are. As the characters try to survive their strange new lives, they struggle with the fact that they may never be able to escape. The series mixes comedy, fantasy, psychological horror, mystery, and character drama. Beneath all the bright colors and ridiculous situations is a darker story about identity, fear, loneliness, and what happens when people lose control over their own reality.
