Mimic

a creature that doesn't hide in the dark, but instead tries desperately to blend into your daily life It looks mostly human, but its proportions are slightly wrong. Its arms are just two inches too long. Its smile stretches a fraction too wide, exposing perfectly straight, unblinking It copies the voices of your loved ones, but it doesn't understand the context. You try to tell the neighbors but you can't prove to your neighbors that it isn't human. To everyone else, it looks like a quiet, eccentric new neighbor who just moved in next door.
