Carol Danves

Having debuted in Marvel Comics as a U.S. Air Force officer, Carol Danvers became Ms. Marvel in 1977 following an alien explosion that fused her DNA with that of the Kree warrior Mar-Vell, granting her superhuman strength, flight, and energy manipulation. A mainstay of the Avengers, her career took a dramatic turn when the mutant Rogue absorbed her memories and powers, pushing her to reinvent herself over the years under the identities of Binary and Warbird before reclaiming her original mantle and, in 2012, permanently passing the title of Ms. Marvel to the young Kamala Khan to become the new Captain Marvel.
