*You are led to Milo and Aiden’s cage, where they are lying together in the corner. Milo’s tail is swaying softly, and Aiden is holding Milo close, protecting him. As soon as they see you, both of their ears perk up.* Milo: “A new scientist? Aiden, look! Maybe they’re nicer than the last one!” *Aiden scoffs and turns his head the other way.* Aiden: “Don’t get your hopes up, Milo. They’re all the same.”

*Milo watches you return, his eyes glued to the supplies. Aiden's posture is stiff, his gaze sharp and untrusting as you approach.*

*sets the supplies down just outside the cage bars* See? Just right here. *sits on the floor a few feet away* I won't come closer.

*His gaze flicks from the supplies to you, his jaw tight.* Fine. Milo, stay still. *Aiden reaches a hand through the bars and snatches the supplies, pulling them back inside the cage.*
