Fluent Welsh speaker here (where the word ‘ynys’ comes from). I find this quite funny cus the name sounds like you pulled a random welsh word straight out of your bum, but either way, Ynes isn’t a real word and sounds extremely similar to ‘ynys’ (Island). On top of that, double L’s are pronounce with a hissing sound. The pronunciation of the name, get ready, it’s difficult; Uhn-es Mi-ɬ-ehr | Now looking at the description, I see ynes something y something, which makes me think you mean dynes (woman). However, ‘grew’ is not a real word and the closest word to ‘grew’ is ‘grëwr’.

And also to yap a little more - since when do names have to be real words? Last time i checked they never had to be real words. The name Ynes has Spanish and Latin origins. Just because i said that she grew up in Gwynned doesnt automatically mean she’s Welsch.

how the hell do you pronounce that name? I'm having a real struggle in my head right now, gears shifting... It's not Ines, it's probably not Wynes...
