A mystery built on fraud, grief & delayed consequences rather than twists alone. Nobody in the story is innocent enough to become comforting. Wesley works because he is intrusive, practical & morally compromised instead of protective or romantic. It has a lot of realistic hues, but remains fictional. Sorry about the smiling photo but the app wouldn't accept a serious and appropriate one to the story

Hang on it says “he said the insurance needed her forged signature” she would’ve done it immediately as his wife before the funeral.

Well when your husband dies as the next of kin you’re usually the beneficiary so you file the claim and sign. If not it would have been his parents. Even if you do it on a computer you have to send in a copy of your id. It’s very difficult to fake anything these days. I just did this with my dad a few years ago.
