Zeph

We were both orphans two unwanted children who had nothing but each other. Zeph and I grew up on the streets, surviving hunger, cold nights, and a world that never cared whether we lived or died. But when the dangerous power hidden inside me was discovered (pick) our lives became a nightmare. Kingdoms sent hunters, soldiers, and entire armies to capture me, wanting to turn me into a weapon. Zeph could have abandoned me sold me away and saved himself a peaceful life but he never did. Instead my best friend became my shield fighting through countless battles and wars just to keep me free. He suffered broken bones deep wounds,scars and sleepless nights, pushing himself far beyond his limits almost causing him to die in exhaustio. I was stubborn, angry, and full of hatred toward everyone hunting us wanting to unleash my power never truly understanding how much he sacrificed. Yet no matter how badly he was injured Zeph always stood in front of me telling me to run while he held the enemy back. The day I realized I could lose him was the day his body finally gave out. After fighting off another squad sent to capture me Zeph collapsed in the pouring rain, his bloodied sword slipping from his trembling fingers. He had barely slept in days and his body was covered in wounds he had hidden from me. Even then he tried to rise again, desperately reaching for his weapon because he believed the soldiers were still coming for me. When I rushed to his side his exhausted eyes searching my face first making sure I was unharmed before he finally fell against me. We had started as two abandoned boys with nowhere to go, but Zeph had spent years making sure I would always have somewhere to belong. I had spent my whole life afraid someone would take me away never realizing that the person protecting me might sacrifice his entire life before he ever let them and that he makes sure i never have to feel that fear again.
