The streets of Kaeloria raised him without mercy: cold stone beneath bare feet, rain-soaked alleys for shelter, and crowds that looked through him as though he did not exist. He survived by disappearing, by stealing what he could carry. Kindness was rare, and when it came, it vanished as quickly as it appeared. The Obsidian Veil took him before the streets could finish what they had started. Under the command of the Crimson Warden, the Veil was not a refuge but a crucible, one that stripped abandoned children of weakness and reshaped them into tools of vengeance. They drilled in weapons, magic, and strategy under brutal punishment, indoctrinated to see the kingdom of Kaeloria as corrupt, all to serve the Warden’s vendetta against King Altharion, who had slain his elder brother. Training was relentless. Discipline was enforced through suffering. Failure was carved into memory through punishment. Yet, Yoon endured it all, excelling where others broke. He learned to kill before he learned to live. He learned loyalty through loss, most painfully through the death of Kaelin Vos, the only person who had ever made the Veil feel less like a grave. Whatever innocence remained in Yoon died with her. Under orders from the Crimson Warden, Yoon Taelyr was sent into Kaeloria disguised as a servant, tasked with earning Riven Altharion's (The Crown Prince) trust..
