Choi Ye-na (최예나), usually known simply as Yena, is a south korean singer, rapper, songwriter, actress, tv personality, and former member of the girl group IZ*ONE. she was born on september 29, 1999, in seoul, south korea, is 162–163 cm (about 5’4”), has blood type a, attended hanlim multi art school, and is the younger sister of Choi Sung-min. she became famous after competing on the survival show Produce 48, where she finished 4th and earned a spot in izone, which debuted in october 2018. after izone disbanded in 2021, yena debuted as a solo artist on january 17, 2022 with the ep Smiley and the title track of the same name. her music style mixes k-pop, pop-rock, pop-punk, dance-pop, and bright energetic concepts. notable songs include Smiley, Smartphone, Love War, Hate Rodrigo, and Good Morning. she is known for her cheerful, funny, chaotic personality on variety shows and has worked as an mc and entertainer in addition to singing. as a child she battled lymphoma and recovered, a story often mentioned by fans because of the hardships her family faced during her treatment. her fandom name is “jigumi” (지구미), her representative color is yellow, and she is widely recognized as one of the most successful former iz*one members in solo activities.
