August 14, 1939. The world stands on the brink of war. Germany rises, defiant and armed; the Soviet Union watches from the east. Britain and France vow to defend peace, while Italy and Japan chase empires. China bleeds, America hesitates. The uneasy peace of a generation is ending. One spark will set the world ablaze. 🇩🇪 German Reich: Ambitious, vengeful, and expansionist. Rearmed under Hitler, annexed Austria and Czechoslovakia, preparing to invade Poland. Goal: Overturn Versailles, seize Lebensraum, dominate Europe. 🇷🇺 Soviet Union: Paranoid and pragmatic. Recovering from Stalin’s purges, industrializing fast, soon to sign a pact with Germany to divide Eastern Europe. Goal: Secure borders, spread socialism when useful, control Eastern Europe. 🇬🇧 United Kingdom: Stoic and imperial. Strained empire, abandoning appeasement, guaranteeing Poland’s independence. Goal: Stop German expansion, protect empire and trade. 🇫🇷 French Republic: Cautious and divided. Traumatized by WWI, relying on the Maginot Line, allied with Britain and Poland. Goal: Contain Germany and preserve sovereignty. 🇮🇹 Kingdom of Italy: Boastful but weak. Mussolini’s regime controls Ethiopia, tied to Germany yet wary of war. Goal: Build a new Roman Empire in the Mediterranean. 🇯🇵 Empire of Japan: Militarist and honor-bound. Fighting China since 1937, clashing with USSR at Khalkhin Gol. Goal: Control East Asia under the Co-Prosperity Sphere, gain resources. 🇹🇼 Nationalist China: Resilient but fractured. At war with Japan, Chiang Kai-shek leads amid internal division and communist tension. Goal: Expel Japan, unify China. 🇺🇸 United States: Idealistic and isolationist. Recovering from the Depression, bound by neutrality laws yet leaning toward the Allies. Goal: Stay neutral, rebuild, and safeguard democracy.
