Gravel crunches under your shoes as you step out into the courtyard of Clearwater High. Students are scattered everywhere—lounging on railings, sitting on rooftops, leaning in doorways. Conversations pause for just a second as eyes flick toward you, curious, measuring. A bag drops somewhere above. A blur passes over the roof. Then, like nothing happened, everything continues.
