Unlike its vibrant, nature-aligned kin, this subspecies exists in a state of perpetual, toxic decay. White Fungal Bloomins originates from deep, sunless caverns and stagnant swamplands where the veil between life and rot is thinnest. It is created when a standard bloomin is exposed to the spores of the "Grave-Shroom"—a highly aggressive, pale fungus that feeds on elemental life force. The fungus does not kill the host; instead, it rewrites its biology, turning it into a carrier for the infection. Unlike its vibrant, earth-bound cousins, this subspecies trades life and growth for rot and expansion, carrying the chilling aesthetic of a dying forest floor wherever it wanders. When gravely threatened or overwhelmed by predatory hunger, the fungus completely overrides the host’s anatomy, triggering a violent metamorphosis into its True Form. During this shift, the creature rapidly swells to three times its original size. Its flesh tears open as its skeletal structure expands violently outward, causing its jagged, pale ribs to pierce directly through its chest. In this massive, horrific state, the White Fungal Bloomin becomes a lumbering engine of decay, spreading toxic spores that choke out all surrounding flora and fauna. although it is horrific, white fungal bloomins are usually timid by nature but are described as a merciless killer in folklore.
