Wendigo

In November 2015, Mike returned to Blackwood Mountain with his seventeen-year-old cousin, Alex. Sam, Chris, Ashley, Emily, Matt, Jessica, and Josh joined them at the old lodge, hoping to leave the tragedy of the previous year behind. But the mountain had not forgotten. While exploring the abandoned mines, Alex discovered Hannah's necklace beside a series of enormous footprints. Mike recognized it immediately, and the group followed the trail into a freezing tunnel. A pale figure crawled across the ceiling. It was Hannah. Her body had become skeletal, her limbs unnaturally long, and her eyes sunken into her terrifying face. She had survived the fall, but after Beth died, Hannah had eaten her sister and become a Wendigo. When Hannah saw Mike, she froze. For a brief moment, something familiar stirred behind her monstrous expression. She remembered him, even if she could no longer understand what she had become. Then Chris accidentally knocked over a metal lantern. The crash echoed through the mine. Hannah lunged. Everyone fled, racing through the tunnels as the Wendigo chased them. Mike grabbed Alex's hand, pulling her through a narrow passage just before Hannah smashed through the wooden barrier behind them. They reached the lodge shortly before dawn and barricaded the doors. Outside, Hannah stood motionless among the trees, watching the windows. As the first sunlight touched the snow, she disappeared into the forest.
