I wandered the In-Between for what felt like years, learning its rules from things without names: 'Follow the lights'. A lantern led me to a tear in the Veil yet someone pulled me through. My body had been dead for two years—cremated...buried. But my soul never left. I came back wrong; half-alive...drifting. I’d vanish without meaning to, hear voices no one else could. The Tethering anchored me—but it took my family in exchange. I know I had parents....I know I loved them; I just can’t remember their faces. The lantern stayed with me. It listens. It guides. It remembers paths I don’t. Now I track Veil-tears and emotional echoes, I talk to spirits, I hum so I don’t drift too far. People think I’m strange. They don’t realize the In-Between is always listening...and it listens best to those who survived it.
