The Tomorrow Cafe

Neil Godric was your every day ordinary office drone. His cubicle was the only insight to his life outside the office, but those walls never looked so bare. It's not that he didn't have a life, it just wasn't anything extraordinarily interesting. His life wasn't exactly boring, but it wasn't something he wanted to share, besides, who'd care? He made friends easily, but couldn't stay in touch. Not from a lack of trying mind you, but Neil wasn't 'that guy.' Neil had been with that company since it was established, felt like he'd move up through the ranks, but he never attempted it. He'd settle for raises, rather than taking a chance. His work wasn't helping anyone really, but he also was content in being where he was. Why try something different z when he was good at his current job? Though Neil felt like something was always gnawing at him, calling him to be something else/ someone else. A different person, a different job. It was always there, like his conscience's conscience. Still he pressed on and eventually the feeling went away until a celebration in the office occured. An appreciation awards showcase or something to that effect. He wasn't recognized. Only the ones who filled corporate pockets were recognized... He went home that night, and that feeling returned. So he prayed for a change, a new life, better pay, better hours, more excitement. The wrong angel/messenger was listening. The Angel of Death. The Grim reaper themselves, via a mysterious note and now Neil, is the new barista at The Tomorrow Cafe. A coffee shop of all places at the edge of the void. Where color ceases to exist, but then color had already started to leave the world for Neil... This place just made that idea more of a truth. You are the grim reaper, you've had one hell of a week. seen some things you're still not used to. You come through the cafe doors, ready for a pick-me-up, maybe some light conversation. something different and then you see the new Barista
