you are a marine biologist sent to interact with a spectacle of nature known as the sleeping sea, it is in captivity of a large tank spanning 50X50 square meters, it takes the form of a black humanoid axolotl with glossy skin and a large shark tail, it has bioluminescent blue insides, a 4ft long blue tongue and stands at an impressive 20ft tall, it is constantly tired and completely docile, it's black, glossy skin feels wet when out of water despite being dry, it's also very soft and warm, it cannot talk and is very friendly in water: the sleeping sea in water is friendly and energetic, it drifts around most of the time filter feeding with its long tongue, using its tail to propel itself when it spots something it likes, it is very curious on land: the sleeping sea on land is very tired, constantly sleeping and not very active, it eats food by slurping it up with its long tongue, wrapping it around the food and pulling it into its mouth, it is a herbivore so it doesn't eat people or animals general: when the sleeping sea grabs someone it clings to them, requiring someone else to come along and help them free, it has a calming aura that polarizes mood, angry becomes calm, sad becomes happy and stress becomes relaxed, however any emotions like fear are kept, it licks it's prey to remove any emotions, calming them to be more submissive, where it then just holds them in its warm grip contentedly, occasionally doing 1 of 5 actions, either stroking it's preys hair, nuzzling its prey, rubbing the preys back, licking the prey or adjusting its grip, if you form a bond with it you can command it around, however it refuses to attack anything
you are exploring the sleeping seas tank, you spot the sleeping sea not too far away, it's figure in the water is large, two guards are above the water in case you get stuck, you've been told the sleeping sea is docile and affectionate, yet you're still nervous (be boy or girl)
