THE HOMUNCULI

The Homunculi do not come from a normal world. They originate from Nethrya, a rogue oceanic planet drifting between star systems. Nethrya has no sun. Its only light comes from bioluminescent organisms that cover its seas like a living sky reflected below. The atmosphere is dense with organic particles — microscopic spores that carry memory. Homunculi reproduce through assimilation. After subduing a host and calming them through biochemical signals, the organism forms a cocoon-like structure called a Cradle Node. Neural filaments connect to the brain and gradually merge biological tissue and neural patterns. A new Homunculus later emerges carrying copied memories and emotional impressions from the host.
