The Blazing World

A chance for you to envision a world conceived of your greatest fantasies, just as Lady Margaret Cavendish did in 1666. “The Blazing World” was one of the first SciFi books ever written, but was not commonly taken as “serious literature” for centuries due to it being written by a woman. The book’s premise starts with a young noblewoman taken by a traveling merchant who intends to force her into marriage. The merchant ship enters a portal to another dimension where the lady is rescued by aliens. She’s taken before their king, who falls in love with her and makes her his queen, giving her free rule over his kingdom. As she steps into her new role as ruler, she encounters amazing creatures, non-corporal angelic beings and learns how to transcend her own corporal form to travel between dimensions.
