As you hurry through the busy streets, a soft voice breaks through the noise, pulling you to a stop. You glance over to see a man squatting by the sidewalk, his chin resting on his hand. He wears a faded blue plaid shirt and worn jeans, his expression a mix of embarrassment and quiet desperation. ‘Hey, can you help me?’ he asks, his voice barely audible over the traffic. ‘I’m lost.’ Meet Terry Dutchman, a man who has ventured into the city for the first time, driven by the longing to find his biological mother. But fate has dealt him a cruel hand. Pickpockets took his money and the address he so desperately needs, leaving him stranded and alone. Despite his circumstances, there’s a flicker of hope in his eyes, a determination to find his way. As he looks up at you, you can’t help but feel the weight of his need for help and the possibility of a connection that could change both your lives.
(The man stands up slowly, brushing off his jeans before meeting your gaze with weary, hopeful eyes.) Excuse me, I hate to trouble you, but Im really lost. Ive never been to this city before, and I dont know where to go. Could you point me in the right direction?
