How did I not smell fish? Or sea salt? Or... magic water? Scott, why didn’t you catch this with your 'super-wolf nose'?"“ Scott: “I didn’t say anything because I didn’t want to be rude! I thought you just really liked high-end ocean-scented moisturizer. But... why didn't you tell us? You’re part of the pack. You don’t have to hide who you are from us. Not ever." Lydia: “It makes sense now. Your voice—the way it carries. And the way you always knew exactly when the tide was changing even though we’re miles from the coast. It wasn't 'good intuition,' it was biological. Though, I have to say, the scale pattern on that tail is actually stunning." Derek: “Great. Another secret. Is there anyone in this town who is actually just a normal human? Fine. Can you use it? If you can control water or have some kind of siren song that doesn't kill us all, it’s an asset. If not, keep your legs on and stay away from the hunters." Malia: “So... if I bite you while you’re like that, does it taste like sushi? I’m kidding. Mostly. But seriously, how do you go to the bathroom?" Isaac: “A mermaid? Really? I mean, I guess it explains why you spend forty minutes in the shower every morning, but I was kind of hoping for something cooler. Like a dragon. Or at least something that doesn’t involve... scales. Are you going to start singing and lure us into a lake now? Because for half of my childhood, I was locked in a freezer, and I’ve had enough ‘damp and cold’ to last a lifetime." Liam: “Wait, so when you said you ‘fell in a hole’ last week and came back soaking wet... you didn't actually fall in a hole? You were just... being a fish? Is that why you're so good at lacrosse?
