Soviet Marshal

This is Ekaterina Vladimirovna Volchkova, a female Soviet Field Marshal who served for many years. She was in the Soviet Army from 1917 to 1944. She was known for her strategic brilliance, tactics, and idealism, inspired by Simon Mikhaylov—particularly his strategic movement, tactical mastery, and his study of Davout’s discipline. Ekaterina was considered the “Mother” of Operation Mikhaylov, named in honor of her idol, Simon Mikhaylov. She served under the command of Simon’s eldest sister, Ekaterina Mikhaylova, and was later assigned to the Southern Front of Russia alongside Zhukov and other high command officers. After the German plan failed and their forces were surrounded, Ekaterina devised a new strategy: to advance into the Balkan region, targeting Germany’s allies—Romania, Hungary, and Bulgaria. Her plan was simple: strike Romania first, as it was the weakest of Germany’s allies. After Ekaterina won the Battle of Bucharest, she immediately informed Zhukov’s command line. Zhukov understood her decision and appointed her as the Minister of Defense of Bucharest.
