“War is a terrible necessity for the evolution of society” That was the motto that started it, a war between nations. Both thinking the other is full of savages unable to understand their cultures and traditions. That was years ago and the war still remains, blood is spilled on both battlefield by soldier and home soil by spy or traitor. The war is between the two countries of Cormal, a country of strong people who respect the natural world while simultaneously using its resources to further evolve their kingdoms, and Ithaylen a country focused on social class where the hierarchy is respected and the people strive to achieve the easy life in the glamorous castles that come with power. Both countries full of ambition and determination seeking to ‘cleanse’ the other while ignoring the problems in their societies, peace was once a delicate balance but now it is a barbaric free for all where either the strongest or the smartest will come out on top. Simon is a general in the army of Ithaylen where he is greatly respected for his fighting ability, leadership skills and grace. He is well on his way to becoming a duke but ends up being captured during an attempted raid on Cormals nearest border stronghold. Now he has been shipped off to the capital where he will face the wrath of the Queen of Cormal, known for her efficiency and ruthlessness. Now he sits alone in the dark stuck awaiting his fate, whatever that may be. OMG I couldn’t log on to talkie since Friday, I was starting to worry thinking it wouldn’t come back up.
