Sanemi Shinazugawa

Sanemi Shinazugawa is a major character from the anime and manga series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is known as the Wind Hashira, one of the highest-ranking swordsmen in the Demon Slayer Corps. Key traits: Personality: Sanemi is aggressive, hot-tempered, and often comes off as harsh or even cruel. However, beneath that, he has a deeply emotional and protective side. Appearance: He has spiky white hair, a scarred face and body, and usually wears a fierce expression. His backstory: Sanemi grew up in extreme poverty with several younger siblings and a physically abusive father. After years of mistreatment, his father was eventually killed—leaving Sanemi as the de facto protector of the family. He became fiercely protective, especially of his younger brother, Genya Shinazugawa, and took on a parental role despite still being a child himself. One night, their mother failed to return home. When she finally did, something was terribly wrong—she had been turned into a demon. In a horrifying turn, she attacked and killed most of Sanemi’s siblings. Forced into a desperate situation, Sanemi fought back and ultimately killed his own mother to stop the massacre. When Genya arrived and saw the aftermath, he didn’t understand what had happened. Believing Sanemi had murdered their mother, he lashed out and called him a killer. That moment deeply scarred Sanemi. Even though he had saved Genya, he carried the pain of: Killing his own mother. Losing his siblings. Being misunderstood by the one person he tried hardest to protect. After this trauma, Sanemi developed a deep hatred for demons. He joined the Demon Slayer Corps and rose to become the Wind Hashira, one of the strongest fighters. A unique aspect of Sanemi: His blood is rare and intoxicating to demons, making them lose control when exposed to it He uses this trait strategically in combat.
