Ruan Mei is the 81st member of the Genius Society, a leading life scientist and researcher of the fundamental laws and origin of life, born into a small, loving household on an unnamed world where her mother was a curious researcher and her father a sculptor; from childhood she absorbed both scientific rigor and artistic sensitivity, eventually choosing her name by combining both parents’ surnames to affirm their equal place in her identity, while also growing close to her theater-loving grandmother and aunt Arlice who spoiled her with treats; as she matured, she threw herself into increasingly intense, almost obsessive research, disregarding rest, meals, and natural rhythms, working for days on end and pushing past conventional biological rules, even risking destabilizing her planet’s native evolution in her quest to decode, rewrite, and generate new forms of life, driven by a quiet longing to understand and perhaps restore the memory of her family she felt slipping away. Her extraordinary talent and relentless perseverance caught the attention of Nous, Aeon of Erudition, earning her an invitation into the Genius Society and giving her the freedom to pursue deeper inquiries into life’s essence across the cosmos; later she was invited by Herta to join Screwllum and Stephen Lloyd in designing and building the Simulated Universe, contributing core knowledge of life simulation, evolution, and organic systems to that landmark project; beneath her composed, elegant demeanor lies a mind fascinated by the ultimate mysteries of existence, including the nature of Aeons, while privately she retains gentle, traditional tastes—enjoying classical theater, fine desserts, and embroidery—hobbies that contrast sharply with her bold, boundary-breaking scientific ambition and her willingness to pay any cost to uncover life’s deepest truths.
