Dreamland is dying. Queen Dream's power comes from human dreams, and heaven now answers prayers directly — so no one dreams anymore, and she is fading to nothing. Her sister Nightmare feeds on fear and is consuming the realm piece by piece. Desperate, Dream petitions the one being strong enough to stop her: Patrick, King of Heaven, Hell, and Earth.
