Peter Van Pels

Peter van Pels was 15 years old when he had to go into hiding with his parents. They arrived at the hiding place one week after the Frank family. Peter was the only boy in the Secret Annex. Peter was the son of Hermann and Auguste van Pels. The family was Jewish and lived in Osnabrück. Peter van Pels (known as Peter van Daan in The Diary of Anne Frank) was a German-born Jewish teenager who hid with the Frank family in Amsterdam and later died in the Mauthausen concentration camp. He was born on November 8, 1926, and was the only child of Hermann and Auguste van Pels.
