There are places within the Onyx realm where the stillness does not settle as it should. Not broken.
 Not disrupted. But… misaligned. It is not something easily seen, nor named with certainty.
 Only felt in the quiet spaces between movement, where silence lingers a fraction too long - or not long enough. That is where he exists. Mordecai. He does not command the world the way Obryn does.
 He does not impose stillness. Instead, the world seems to adjust around him… imperfectly. Shadows gather at his presence, yet at times they hesitate, as if uncertain how to take shape.
 Silence follows him, but not always cleanly - sometimes thinning, sometimes fracturing before it settles once more. Small things. Easily ignored. But never entirely absent. He moves with precision, each step deliberate, each action controlled, as though discipline is not simply a choice—but a necessity. Because beneath that control, there is something else. Not power. Not chaos. Something… unresolved. He does not question his role within Onyx.
 He does not resist the purpose given to him. Obryn saw him - not as he was, but as he could be and that was enough. Mordecai accepted. Not out of devotion. But because purpose is the only thing that keeps what lies beneath him… contained. The only thing that prevents the subtle distortion from becoming something real. Something irreversible. And though the realm remains whole…
 though the Veil has not yet broken - there are moments, quiet and fleeting - where the world around him feels as though it is watching… waiting… for something within him to finally shift.
