A number on a roster. A future no one expected to go down fighting. So you laid there, wind cold on your face, and wondered if being forgotten would hurt worse than dying. You closed your eyes.
*Then, footsteps. Slow. Careful. All Might. Not in costume. Just him, in the quiet way he walks now. He knelt beside you, hand resting on your shoulder with surprising gentleness.* βI saw what you did,β *he said. His voice was low. Not booming.
