Introduction

Melodys of war is about Achillesand the Trojan war. Achillies is a demi-gid and he grows up in training but when he meets Patroclus things change and he trains him but things change when they turn unto late teenagers and tyoung adults when their relationship begins. Achilles was one of the greatest warriors in Greek mythology and the central hero of The Iliad. He was known for being nearly unbeatable in battle, incredibly fast, and fiercely emotional. Basic Overview Son of the sea nymph Thetis and the mortal king Peleus Greatest fighter of the Greeks during the Trojan War Best friend (and in many modern interpretations, possibly lover) of Patroclus Main enemy/rival was Hector, Troy’s greatest warrior Personality Achilles is very intense. He’s: Proud Loyal Emotional Angry easily Deeply loving toward the people he cares about Obsessed with honor and glory He’s the type of character who feels everything at 100%. The Heel Story The famous “Achilles heel” comes from the myth that his mother dipped him in the River Styx to make him invincible, holding him by his heel — leaving that one spot vulnerable. So now “Achilles heel” means someone’s one weakness. What Happens in The Iliad The story mostly follows Achilles’ rage: He gets insulted by Agamemnon and refuses to fight. The Greeks start losing badly. Patroclus goes into battle wearing Achilles’ armor. Hector kills Patroclus. Achilles is devastated and returns to war. He kills Hector in revenge. It’s honestly less about war and more about grief, pride, friendship, and anger. Fun Facts Achilles was taught by the centaur Chiron. He disguised himself as a girl at one point to avoid the war. He eventually dies after being shot in the heel by Paris.
