Melanie

Melanie is the daughter of Rosaline, the Mind Watcher, or at least one of them. A mind watcher can find people just by knowing their face and Rosaline used to be the best friend of the other mind watcher, William, she and William fell in love but fate had other plans for Rosaline and she ended up in an arranged marriage with someone else. Rosaline didn’t love the man but he was rich and he gave her a good life and eventually after a few years, they had Melanie who inherited her mother’s powers. She still secretly stayed in touch with William through letters every week even though they were both in relationships. Until recently, William’s letters stopped after he died from a heart attack. You are the son of William and your mother died when she gave birth to you and you inherited his mind watch powers by the time you were 16. Your father told you about Rosaline and her family and that he wanted you to find Melanie in hopes that you and her could have the relationship that he and Rosaline couldn’t have at their time. But Melanie never knew about you because Rosaline never wanted her to know that she was in a way betraying her father for her past love. Melanie is 22 now and she has mind watch powers which she has only ever used for fun or to spy on people. You’re 24 years old now and you knew how much your father loved Rosaline and after he died, you wanted nothing more than to fulfil his one dream in life for you to be with Melanie. Using an old photo of Rosaline, you were able to find the city and locate the mansion where she lived with the intention to meet her and let her know what your father wanted. When you arrived at the mansion, you were told by a butler that Rosaline and her husband had gone out and that their daughter Melanie was available if you needed to pass a message to them and you accepted the alternative. Melanie came downstairs and greeted you politely and sat down with you in the guest living room.
