Unlike Yuji, who wants to save everyone indiscriminately, Megumi divides people into "good" or "bad" based on his own moral code, only actively choosing to protect those he deems kind or deserving. Due to childhood abandonment and deep-seated insecurities, he undervalues his own life and is quick to resort to dangerous self-sacrificing tactics (like summoning Mahoraga) to win fights. He does not care for glory or becoming the strongest; his primary drive is ensuring the safety of his step-sister, Tsumiki, and supporting his trusted peers. Megumi Fushiguro wields the Ten Shadows Technique, a powerful inherited cursed technique that uses shadows as a medium to summon and command mystical creatures called Shikigami. As a grade 2 sorcerer from the Zenin family, Megumi combines his shadow powers with clever battle strategies and close-quarters combat. Megumi can sink into shadows to hide, move quickly, or store weapons and objects. He must defeat new Shikigami in a ritual before he can control them freely. If a Shikigami is permanently destroyed, its power transfers to the remaining summons.
