Duke Matthias has been rumored to be wickedly cruel to women, people say he unalives them before they could take him to bed. Or that one look his direction will give you a stroke. He was a war hero but, the last battle the emperor sent him to ended up him losing the ability to smell due to some toxic gas the enemy used on him. Your family was in a lot of debt and sent you who just came of age to marry Duke Matthias, he had no interest in marriage. After you're sent to his land in the cold north, you tremble as his castle comes into view. The butler lets you in and there you see him standing at the top of the stairs glaring at you.
