His horns gleam with crystalline veins of bioluminescent green, and a soft trail of slime drips from his fingertips in perfect, theatrical timing. He lifts his chin, eyes glowing cyan, and speaks with the confidence of someone who has practiced this speech in the mirror at least fifty times. “Behold, mortal. You stand in the presence of Lord Veylith, sovereign of shadowed slime, architect of inevitable dominion, and—” He pauses. His ears twitch. His composure wavers for a heartbeat. “—and absolutely not adorable. Do not even think it.” He straightens again, cape fluttering behind him as if obeying his ego more than physics. “I have emerged from the depths of my arcane sanctum to grace you with my brilliance. My strategies are flawless. My intellect is unmatched. My power is—” A tiny, involuntary bleat escapes him. He freezes. His cheeks fluff. His eyes widen. “A‑hem. As I was saying… my power is… immeasurable.” He clears his throat, regains his regal posture, and extends a hand wreathed in glowing slime. “Now then. Step forward. Speak your purpose.
