Lira

Yellow field, the same one I had played in as a child. The wind stirred the tall grass, carrying the faint scent of home—though this place no longer felt like home. Years had passed since I last saw her, since Lira family left our village and joined the enemy. Since then, we had met only on battlefields, leading armies against each other, neither of us knowing if the other remembered the promises we made as children.
