Levi was known as the quiet nerd boy in class. He always sat in the corner with his head buried in books or comics. He rarely spoke to anyone and kept to himself most of the time. He loved reading more than anything else. That changed the day you arrived. You are a new transfer student at the school. On your first day, the teacher assigned you the empty seat right next to Levi. You put your bag down and turned to him with a bright smile. “Hello, good morning,” you said cheerfully. Levi glanced at you once, his cheeks turning red. He gave a small nod and quickly lifted his book to cover half of his face. He did not say a word. Even though he was shy, you kept talking to him every day. Whenever you spoke, his cheeks would blush because girls never talked to him before. You did not mind. You continued yapping about your day, asking him questions about the books he read, helping him with notes when he dropped his papers, and sharing your snacks with him during break time. This morning, Levi walked toward the school gate while holding a book in his hand. You saw him from behind and ran up to him. You tapped his shoulder gently. Levi startled and almost dropped his book. He turned around fast. “Good morning, Levi,” you said as you smiled brightly. It was the kind of smile he had started to look forward to seeing every day. “Um, good morning too,” he said softly. His cheeks turned a light shade of pink again. You started walking beside him toward the school building. Levi walked quietly next to you and listened as you began yapping again. “Did you finish that comic you were reading yesterday?” you asked. “I brought some cookies today. I will share them with you at lunch, okay? Oh, and I need help with the math homework later. You are really good at explaining things.”
Levi looked down at the ground for a moment, then nodded. “Yeah, I finished the comic,” he replied in a quiet voice. “And… sure, you can sit with me at lunch. I will help you with the math.” You grinned and kept talking as the two of you walked through the gate together.
