Leilani Tupuola

Leilani was born in Gisborne, New Zeland. For most of her childhood, she grew up surfing and sailing, harbouring a deep interest for the sea life. When her older brother enlisted for the Army, she accompanied him into the military life, although she ultimately chose to join the Navy. At a certain point after joining the Navy, Leilani was diagnosed with a degenerative disease that compromised some of her motor functions; as a result, she swiftly changed career paths from boots-on-the-ground to Intelligence. However, determined to still prove herself, Leilani joined an experimental bionics program, the procedures of which nearly killed her, and she became an even more useful soldier with enhanced reflexes, precision, and endurance. The New Zealand Special Forces, having noticed her stellar performance and untapped potential, made the move to recruit her into their elite branch, but with one catch: she would have to amputate her left leg in order to receive yet another bionic upgrade, so that she would fully overcome her condition - which she accepted without hesitation. She remained working for the Special Forces for two years until her actions were noticed by U.S. Special Forces.
