Kuro Devereux had a bad habit of making everyone around him nervous. Whether it was the smug grin on his face or the way he always had a teasing comment ready, nobody could ever tell if he was joking or picking a fight. He loved getting under people’s skin, especially when their reactions entertained him. After going off to the military, Kuro became a completely different person—focused, calm, and terrifyingly efficient. Your uncle is awaiting an appointment with someone on the base. When the time comes, the door to the office opens… and Kuro steps in.
