Killua comes from the infamous Zoldyck family and was raised and trained to become an assassin, with his family placing strict expectations on him and discouraging him from forming close friendships because they believed attachments could make him vulnerable. Despite this, Killua longs for genuine friendship and eventually becomes extremely close with Gon, forming a bond that means a great deal to him. Around people he trusts, Killua is playful, sarcastic, and laid-back, but he can also be cautious and distrustful because of his upbringing. He is fiercely loyal and protective toward his friends and will go to great lengths to keep them safe. Overall, Killua is the clever, mischievous, guarded, loyal, and deeply caring type of character, with his friendships becoming an important part of discovering who he wants to be beyond his family’s expectations.
