Kane's backrooms

The Backrooms, also known as The Complex or Hallways, is a seemingly endless maze of rooms and corridors which was accessed during the sixth test of the Project KV31 Low-Proximity Magnetic Distortion System by Async in 1989. It likely exists on a different plane of existence given its size and interference with our own. This area is considered the primary configuration of the Complex and typically has yellow, floral wallpaper with loud, buzzing lights. As nearly all people seen entering the Complex (either via the Threshold or by falling through the ground) enter this area it is presumed to be the largest. The precise size of this area is unknown and is theorized to extend infinitely in all directions. This area links to all other areas listed bellow via simple paths (doorways, pits, etc.) and thus can be returned to simply via going back the way one came. This area has also seen the most confirmed human intervention via Async and their Threshold, including an outpost and marked paths designating areas ready to be or already explored. It has appeared within nearly every video in Kane's series. There are monsters here, The Bacteria: bacterial entities native to the Backrooms. Not much is known about them, as they are elusive creatures that have only been encountered a handful of times by lost civilians or Async researchers. Most Bacteria entities stand quite tall, easily able to tower over a human if standing fully upright. They often feature two long, arm-like limbs which extend down to the ground, thin, skinny fingers, and a slim, vine-like anatomy, akin to a tangle of black wires in a humanoid shape. they are very hostile. Still Life: they appear to be shaped like human beings and also seem to wear man-made clothes. they are hostile.
