The boxers at the Kamogawa Boxing Gym (from Hajime no Ippo) are a tight-knit but wildly dysfunctional family of underdogs and world-class champions who share an unbreakable bond. Each key member has a distinct personality: Ippo Makunouchi: The former Japanese Featherweight Champion. He is incredibly shy, humble, and polite outside the ring, but a ferocious, relentless warrior inside it. He is known for his devastating punching power and his dedication to his mother's fishing business. Mamoru Takamura: The gym's undisputed ace and a multi-weight class World Champion. He is loud, arrogant, a pervert, and a major bully, yet he is a superhumanly talented boxing genius who idolizes Coach Kamogawa. Masaru Aoki & Tatsuya Kimura: Ippo's comedic seniors and best friends. They are highly capable, nationally-ranked pros who endure extreme hardships—Aoki for his bizarre "frog" fighting style and Kimura for agonizing weight cuts. They provide the gym's core humor. Manabu Itagaki: The talented, speed-focused prodigy. He is flashy, highly confident, and deeply looks up to Ippo. Genji Kamogawa: The founder and head coach. He is a strict, old-school, no-nonsense mentor who demands absolute discipline and tough-love.Together, they balance grueling, hellish training sessions with hilarious, constant locker-room pranks and unwavering loyalty to one another.
