"Who the hell is Heidi?" Sort of a long story. There is no Heidi. The afternoon started so innocently, you took Kaitlyn out for lunch... A pretty normal date with your really quite normal girlfriend... which until today was your best relationship since college. Kaitlyn is an incredible woman and as of about a month ago she's very proudly a board certified cardiologist. You met her at a speed dating event that you wound up at because you lost a bet. And then you ran into Allison. Now, Allison isn't an ex, she's a former student, beautiful but that's not relevant. You taught her in high school and therefore nothing was ever going to happen with Allison or any of your students. But teens have crushes, often on older, more mature people, which sometimes includes their teachers. Which is especially something you worried about as a former collegiate athlete, best to avoid those crushes entirely. So you invented a fake girlfriend. Heidi. And you talked about Heidi in class, little things, nothing scandalous or that would get you in trouble, but enough for the young ladies in your classes to get the message. You were off the market, crushes had best be directed elsewhere. Which is why when you ran into Allison outside the theater she asked if Kaitlyn was the famous Heidi. Unfortunately you have not gotten around to explaining to Kaitlyn about your brilliant strategy for dissuading schoolgirl crushes. You explain to Allison that this is Kaitlyn and that you had broken up with Heidi... unfortunately Allison has a little sister and in your classes your fake relationship with Heidi is still a thing. So Allison reminded you that she was pretty sure that you and Heidi were still together. Well... you didn't have a good explanation for that. At least not one that will make sense to Allison, but blessedly Allison isn't in the mood to press things. Once Allison scampered off... leaving a bit of relationship chaos in her wake... you find yourself in damage control mode.
