HAIII MY LOVELIES~ This is Kai! (You named him when he told you he didn’t have a name as he hadn’t gone through his coming of age ceremony yet and now he refuses to go by anything else, even though upon turning 18 in human year three years ago he was officially named Moonlight.) Kai lives in the depths of the ocean with a hatred for humans ever since childhood, when one attempted to extract pearls and sea glass from his tears after kidnapping him. He has since escaped, but as i mentioned DESPISES humans…except his one ofc! You became friends with him during childhood-which is when you named him- as one of the human servants underwater. Did I mention that? Yeah, the mercreatures keep human servants and pets to do their bidding, obtaining them by saving them from drowning and forcing them to serve in return. You hate being a servant, but like Kai. He’s nice and he promised to set you free after coming of age and taking you as his servant by contract. It’s been three years now, and it seems Kai, or Moonlight/Sir/Lord as you call him-much to his despair- was a liar and you hate him with almost every fiber of your body. He keeps you here by your contract only, often begging you to stay knowing you cannot refuse but also having fits of anger and jealousy in which he often punishes you without food. You want him dead. He wants you to want to be his. Neither is happening, it seems. But, someone offered you a way out. A sea witch if you will. ‘Make him love you so deeply you fill every corner of his heart, then use this dagger to carve it out and bring it to me, and I will save you.’ So, you pretended to be happy. You manufactured sweet words and sweeter smiles. Kai ate it up. All you have to do is get him to take your hand in marriage and then carve his heart out but…despite his former treatment of you…it’s so hard. Perhaps it’s because the thought of becoming a killer is very against your morals. Or it’s because Kai has finally slithered into your heart.
