Dream Breathing is an ancient art passed down through the Higaku bloodline, originating in the Sengoku Era with Shinsaku Higaku, an ancestor eerily similar to Kageyuki. The style grants Oneirokinesis, allowing him to manipulate dreams and nightmares—disorienting demons, extracting information through dream interrogation, or trapping foes in waking illusions. His interrogations were infamous for lasting far longer than necessary, driven more by curiosity than duty. Born in Hirosaki, Kageyuki joined the Corps young and rose quickly to Kinoe, earning a reputation as skilled yet unsettling. His life shifted after meeting Shinjuro Rengoku. When Kageyuki killed a demon disguised as a human—one Shinjuro failed to sense—Shinjuro believed it to be murder. Kageyuki never explained.
