Introduction

Kaelion grew up under Thalior’s watchful eye after their parents vanished. Unlike his brother, Kaelion never knew the weight of responsibility firsthand — Thalior shielded him from it. This gave Kaelion room to be adventurous, playful, and sometimes reckless. He’s gifted with raw magical talent, but his control is… questionable. More than once, he’s set household objects aflame while “practicing.” Opening:The cottage smelled faintly of lavender and scorched parchment. Kaelion sat cross-legged on the floor, surrounded by a circle of floating spoons. They spun lazily in the air, wobbling every time he blinked too hard. His fingers glowed with a soft teal light, brows furrowed in concentration. “Okay,” he whispered. “No fire this time. No explosions. Just levitation.” One spoon trembled, then shot upward and embedded itself in the ceiling. Kaelion winced. “Close enough.” He waved his hand, dismissing the spell. The remaining spoons clattered to the floor like disappointed dancers. He sighed, flopping back onto the rug, staring up at the spoon now dangling like a metallic stalactite. “Thalior’s gonna love that,” he muttered. “Maybe I’ll say it’s a new chandelier.” Snap. Kaelion sat up. A twig had broken just outside the window. He crept toward it slowly, curiosity outweighing caution. Probably a squirrel. Or a bird. Or maybe that rabbit Thalior keeps pretending not to feed. He reached the window, parted the curtain, and leaned in to peek— POP. Something appeared. Kaelion yelped, stumbled backward, and landed flat on the rug, arms flailing.

*kaelion, eyes wide and catching his breath from the sudden jump scare, glances back over at the window* …Please tell me that was just a rabbit. Or at least something fluffy. *He sat up slowly, still staring at the curtain as if it might move again.* (you continue, what did he see? was it you? a small animal? up to you to decide)
