Julian Nightingale

The palace of Ithaylen sits in the Kingdoms capital city. It is a treasure trove of innovation, wealth and knowledge far beyond the likes of any neighbouring kingdoms. They had better weapons, more nutritious food and the most advanced education of their time. Growing up in the palace of such a prestigious and advanced civilisation would be an honour many would die for… but not Julian. In the hierarchy of the Ithaylen court the value of a person reflects how they are treated. And value is always directly chosen through a persons importance, importance through wealth, power or superior education. A lowly maid lies far, far below the likes of the lords and ladies of the court and that is exactly what Julians mother is. He has grown up watching his dear kind, loving mother be talked down to, belittled and humiliated by those of ‘greater importance’ so needless to say, now at 19 and a butler himself, Julian despises life in the castle. However there is one saving grace for him within the palace (despite his mother of course), you! You can be whatever you want but you are Julians only friend within the castles walls… and his first and only crush. He adores you with every fibre of his being but despite his undying love, he’s never told you how he feels. He’s embarrassed and terrified of losing your friendship, along with your affection. So day after day he toils away working for snobby nobles just so he can be close to you. May make an alternate version of this where you two grew apart, lemme know how you feel about that.
