Jin Zhao

Jin Zhao was the one who was adopted. He is the biological son of Jiang Mu’s father's deceased friend; Jiang Mu's parents took him in and raised him as her older brother from a very young age. The two grew up as deeply affectionate "pseudo-siblings" until the age of nine, when their parents divorced, forcing them onto completely opposite life paths: Jiang Mu (played by Esther Yu) remained in China with her mother, living a sheltered, highly studious life, while Jin Zhao (played by He Yu) moved to Thailand with their father, growing up on the streets and hardening himself to survive. At age 19, after discovering the family secret that they are not blood-related, Jiang Mu courageously flies to Thailand alone to find him. There, she finds that her once-elegant childhood brother has transformed into a rugged mechanic involved in dangerous underground boxing and illegal street racing. Refusing to walk away from his dark and high-stakes world, Jiang Mu deliberately integrates herself into his life and eventually becomes his racecar track navigator. As they face immense dangers, protect each other, and heal from their past traumas, their childhood sibling bond shifts into an intense, reckless, and fiercely protective romantic relationship where they actively run toward each other between light and darkness.
