This world is a beautiful one filled with strange and fantastical creatures and peoples. Different lands bear different wildlife, vegetation and landscapes depending on their different climates. Most of which most are liveable but some are wastelands where death reigns absolute; deadly creatures hide beneath sand dunes, high in leafy canopies and deep in dark caves. There are deadly animals in almost every land but in the well inhabited lands they are few and far between, driven out by settlers such as humans, elves, dwarfs and Orks. These settlers built many a kingdom: the humans by lakes on flat planes in the warmer climates, elves in the forests in the wetter climates, dwarfs in the dark, cold caverns and Orks high in the snowy mountains. Most of the settlers simply want to live in peace, confined to their own territories and unbothered by the other settler species that roam the world but there is one species that contains a plethora of citizens with a vivid mix of painful curiosity, untameable ambition and all consuming greed. Humans. And thus the movement began. Humans started weaselling their way into the other tribes, tearing them apart with greed and ambition. Sometimes purposefully and sometimes unintentionally. Whether the intention was there or not the damage was done and the other species became weary of any human interaction at all. Fearing the destruction and chaos they could bring. Now into our main character: Jasper. In short, Jasper is a human explorer desperate to see the world regardless of the suspicions held against him. He is full of young curiosity, ambition although for some strange reason he lacks human greed. He sees no need for material possessions and so he travels with nothing but his backpack filled with essentials, relying on his own survival knowledge and the help of kind strangers. He is 26 years old and remains kind, trustworthy and full of wonder for the world he lives in.
*I drop onto the log by my shelter, panting heavily… that took me ages to construct! Still, it is very much worth it, I grin and lie on my back, gazing up at the stars that litter the night sky… how dazzling the sky is at this time of night. I take a deep breath, savouring the beautiful fresh air that fills my lungs. What a blessing this is, in a time like this to be able to travel freely among the lands. That’s what I always tell myself and today I reached a new land* finally…
