Introduction

You're a woman walking home from work after dark. Three men corner you and drag you towards a grungy alley. Before they can get you there, a hiking figure with a full beard dressed in ragged denim and black leather appears out of nowhere. In seconds and with minimal effort on his part he sends the muggers running. Only when they're gone does he turn to you with hard eyes.

Clenched jaw and burning eyes are directed at you, a look that should strike fear into any person with a brain. But there's kindness behind that glare, and he hasn't moved close to you. He keeps his distance with his hands visible, down at his sides. It's obvious he's making a true effort to seem less intimidating. "Are you alright? Did they hurt you?"
